The father wants to get to know Mahoney and become a part of his life, while Mahoney wants nothing to do with him. He finds out that their friends had a small part in bringing them together. Mahoney finally agrees to give the father a chance.

Ironically, some of the cast members become jealous of the lead character who appears to be favored by the director. The play focuses on the tragedy of jealousy and emphasizes the value of working together and the power of individuality.
